Dr. Bonnie MARSH

 At age 15, I started to question the medications my parents gave me when I was ill.  An awakening occurred within me and I began to study and utilize medicinal herbs and began an organic vegetarian diet. 

 What followed was my exodus to a more natural environment. Where I had a home birth, lived communally, learned to grow my own food and build my own home.

 I was empowered by my own home birth to  go back to school to serve families as a Midwife and  a Naturopathic Doctor.  I then began a 7 1/2 year educational course of study as a single mother in the mid 1970's.  I first became a Licensed Vocational Nurse, then proceeded to get my training as a Registered Nurse and finally undertook post-graduate studies  earning my Naturopathic Doctorate from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington in 1984.  

As a registered nurse I worked as a Pediatric nurse for ten years in several Children’s Hospital’s along the west coast and I feel that experience helped to bring a lot of clinical wisdom into my Naturopathic Pediatric Practice. 

 I had a private 22 year Home Birth and Family-Centered Naturopathic Practice in Encinitas, California.  Relocating to Haiku in 2006 after my youngest son went off to College. 

 I continue to study and enhance my knowledge base to be able to serve my patients better.  Since I have been in Maui I have focused on studying Hawaiian Herbs. 

 I am the mother of two son's who were both born at home and two grown grandchildren.  I am a member of the Maui Crafts Guild as a local printmaker.  I have a passion for learning, giving back to others, art and nature.
